Information About Seminar

Background

Rapid advancements in medical science, healthcare technology, and digital health services have significantly transformed healthcare delivery worldwide. While these developments have improved access and quality of care, they have also raised complex legal issues related to regulation, governance, accountability, patient rights, and dispute settlement. Differences in national legal systems and regulatory frameworks further complicate the effective governance of health services across jurisdictions.

Recent global developments—including public health emergencies, population aging, environmental challenges, and the expansion of healthcare information technology—have intensified the need for sound and adaptive legal frameworks in health and medical law. These developments give rise to a wide range of legal issues within the broader context of health and medical law, all of which require careful legal analysis, critical reflection, and comparative perspectives.

HLIOS 2026 is organized in response to these challenges, providing an international academic forum for critical discussion, comparative research, and policy-oriented dialogue in the field of health and medical law.

Objectives

The objectives of HLIOS 2026 are to:

  1. Provide an international academic forum for discussion on emerging global challenges in health law and medical law.

  2. Encourage comparative and interdisciplinary research and discussion across jurisdictions.

  3. Promote scholarly publication and academic exchange among professors, lecturers, students, and professional researchers.

  4. Enhance understanding of contemporary issues in regulation, governance, and medical dispute settlement.

  5. Strengthen international academic collaboration in the field of health and medical law.

Call for Papers

The Organizing Committee invites academia (professors, lecturers, students, and professional researchers) to submit original and unpublished papers addressing issues related to health and medical law. Submissions may be theoretical, empirical, or comparative in nature.
