Overview

This 6th ICCIS conference welcomes papers on various sub-themes. Among others are:

  • Representations and visual narratives of gender, social class, body image, and ethnic identities
  • Cultural hybridity
  • Cultural appropriation
  • Cultural memory and imagination through the tangible and the intangible heritages
  • Communication and visual rhetoric
  • Digitization and visualization of cultural objects
  • Performativity and visual technology
  • Religious images, philosophical images and metaphors
  • Cultural heritage and transmedia storytelling
  • History of Chinese Diaspora in text and visual culture

Such diverse sub-themes reside in areas of visual culture to be explored and presented. They encompass but not limited to:

  • performing arts,
  • music,
  • painting,
  • calligraphy,
  • sculpture,
  • architecture,
  • poster,
  • sticker,
  • film and all digitally-generated visual forms.

Participants will have the opportunity to present their papers as either a paper presenter in a parallel session, or a poster/artwork presenter in a mini-exhibition.
